Running in Command/Cab 1 mode.Engines are programed in a lash up. Everything responds and working perfect except for smoke. Smoke Switches are "on"

Book only calls for 6 drops in each unit.

Hitting "9" on the Legacy remote. Directions don't describe anything else. They are brand new.

any Ideas would be apreciated.

I'll second Lou's suggestion of the AUX 1 key.

Are you getting any noticeable fan noise? These dual stack units are a pain to fill. They will take way more than 6 drops just like anything else.

It is also imperative to have a needle tip filler, otherwise some of the fluid could leak past the funnel. The funnel is very large  the fluid can get trapped in the base with an air bubble.

I'd put at least 10 drops and blow in one stack while holding your finger over the other. One end of the funnel is shorter the the other. That one will get the fluid to the unit a bit faster but you'll have to remove the shell to figure out which stack has the shorter end of the funnel.

Heres a pic from Lionel of the funnel upside down.

Its also #81 on the breakdown here. You can see how one end is shorter.

exploded view.

So its a no go and I decide to pull them apart. Smoke units didn't look to bad wicking was hard so I re packed and removed the resistor sleeve. A few board connections seemed loose so I tightened all connections. Put them back together. But this time I positioned the smoke switches opposite what the book says. Now they both smoke properly. Maybe smk switches are in backwards? Thanks Nick

Nick,

First, do you hear the fans begin running when you cycle on and off?

I don't hear any fans running Its as if there are  no smoke units in these. The book says there are and there are smoke on off switches underneath switched them to off that didn't work either. Nick

Don’t dome of these fans only work while moving? Pulse, while in neutral

I have found a couple of backwards switches, myself. One was a RUN/PROG switch.

I have a Weaver USRA 0-6-0 that I upgraded to ERR a while back. I left the smoke unit independent, as usual. Problem is - when it is switched to ON, it is ON; when switched to OFF, it is ON. Huh. Kind of funny.

One day I have to fix that....maybe it's a "feature".
