I have a Lionel 6-18009 Mohawk that I will pass on to a nephew soon. The problem may be his 0-36 curves. Does anyone know what the minimum curve diameter is for this engine?
As Vernon said, O42 is the minimum for operation. But for appearance sake, the better choice would be O72 or greater. I think the Mohawk was the longest O gauge locomotive that Lionel had ever made, up to that time (1990.)
Thanks gentlemen, appreciate the information. I am sure this was their largest engine up to then. I have upgraded mine with a can motor, Cruise Commander and Railsounds.
