I don't know if i'm doing something wrong but hope someone can help me sort this issue with my Lionel 6-18959 New York Central NW-2 Switcher.

It's been stored in the box for quits sometime and yesterday I put it on the track and started it up all the features worked but it didn't run. I changed the ID from 1 to 22 and now when I apply power to the track it starts up without pressing the start button on the remote. It runs most features work but not the whistle or horn. I'm using a legacy remote. I set the remote to TMCC and Cab 1. I tried it in conventional mode and everything works fine.

Hope someone can help, Thanks

It use an old LCRU2 so it may be failing with receiver sensitivity.  I guess the first step is do you have a good antenna connection with no grounding?  G

Hi G

I thought of adding a earth ground since it did work a couple of times since I created this post.  I forgot to say it runs and reverses fine with the remote but the horn and bell work with my Z4k buttons.

If you haven't done so already, do a reset/restore on the LCRU2 board. The code on this loco technically doesn't matter because there isn't anything connected to the configurable pin, but I'd use a 6 on this loco.

If that doesn't change things, then try pulling and re-seating the two chips on the RS2.5 board, but ONLY IF you have the proper PLCC-chip extractor. But my guess is that the above step will fix things.
