Bought these 3 used and without a manual..do all 3 cars get assigned the same ID# so that you can use one ID# or do you give each car a unique ID# so that you can isolate the sounds? Thanks

I don't think the one's you bought have sounds according to Lionel website
interesting...as the ones I had years ago had the same Lionel number we shall see when they arrive and a utube video shows them with the same number as well..hmmm
you are correct 6-27410 is the one with sound..no matter, I bought them cheap!

I have the sound set (6-27410) and the non-sound set (6-27411, never opened). Only two of the cars in the sound set have sounds and one of those has an EOT. I had plans to two-rail both sets but never did (yet). I wanted to keep the EOT functional but, if I remember correctly, the EOT board was integral to the sound board. There were a couple of other differences that kept me from completing that project. As an aside, the sounds were horrible; it sounded like someone was inside the tank beating on it with a spike maul! The cars themselves are very nice, so one day I will finish the project; minus the EOT! 
EDIT: It just occurred to me as I posted this that I have an MTH three-rail self-contained truck-mounted EOT (20-89010) that I can probably two-rail and put the power supply inside the tank body.
