Lionel 6-28383 Conrail Genset Switcher Minimum Track Curve
Is there any reason this locomotive won't run on curves as small as O31 or perhaps O36? It's rated for O-42, but it's only 16" long with four wheel trucks.
I would like to consider this, but I have some O-31 that it'll have to handle.

The pilots of Lionel's Genset switchers are fixed and do not swing like the majority of other Lionel diesels. Thus, the Genset requires a slightly broader curve even though it is a relativity short engine.
Bummer, I'd like one, but obviously not if I have to replace all my track! 
And weight
So, you're saying it's not the locomotive, but rather the cars it's pulling that have the problem. I wonder if anyone has run them on O-31? I have no problem putting a good quality car behind it, I have a ton of MTH and modern Lionel with die-cast trucks that have a nice weight.
The MTH Premier Genset has swinging pilots and will run on O31.
However, the MTH Genset doesn't have Legacy, which is what I have. 
I'm not ready to jump the fence just yet and get both systems.
I'd love to hear from someone that's actually plopped this on O-31 track and tried it. I'd really love to have one, but I obviously don't want to order it blind.
