Anyone have one of these, and if so can you please tell me if the mural on the side of the bridge is a colored transparency?  (that is the interior lighting 'backlights' the mural?)

It looks like it might be from the pictures, but I cannot find any details to confirm this.

I'd appreciate any information on this question and the quality of this covered bridge model.

Thanks in advance!

Robert

Many thanks for the reply Bill!  A little bit of an, "aw shucks", but yes, I do like the way they did this particular 'half' covered bridge as it would fit my smaller layout well.

In placing some tribute items on my layout this covers two, my mother really liked covered bridges and my father along with us boys were into scouts...so I still may have to have one of these.

I like covered bridges, too, having photographed a lot of them, as well as water mills,

and grain elevators.  I am searching for a kit of one, the Black Mill Bridge, that was

once offered by a now retired hobby shop owner in Lancaster, Ohio (I have found some

of his other kits but not that one) The prototype bridge, until recently, was well

maintained and under traffic, and the mill next to it has undergone a recent restoration.

One additional question of Bill or anyone else who knows about the Lionel Boy Scouts of America bridge...

Is the Mural on both sides?  I would assume it is but cannot verify this.

Well okay, maybe two questions...anyone know the source of the Boy Scout Image on the side of the bridge?  I could not find it in a search.

Thanks!

Colorado hirailer, I did not realize there were so many covered 'railroad' bridges until I did some searching.  There are some really cool looking prototype photos out there on the web...is the 'Black Mill Bridge' the same as the 'Black-Pugh's Mill Covered Bridge'?

I originally just thought of adding the Bachmann covered bridge.  It actually seems to be a nicely done albeit small model that could look pretty nice with some weathering.

My only reservation on the BSA Lionel version is that even with it's half length compared to the full size Lionel covered bridge, it seems very tall, and might dwarf some of the 1 or even 2 story structures on my small layout...but I still really like the looks of it...decisions, decisions

Robert

Just thought I would post a couple pics of my BSA Covered Bridge after assembly.  I could not resist picking one up, as Bill H. mentioned it is very sharp looking.

The weathering is a bit lighter than I expected or hoped, but overall the look of the bridge lit or unlit is still nice (sorry, blurry photo of it lit...no flash & no tripod).  It is also quite tall.
