Hi. Can someone please tell me what the black wire to the shell is and where it goes on this particular engine? It’s located right next to and on the same molex as the gray antenna wire which goes to green if I’m not mistaken.

The gray wire in your picture goes to ground on the 691-PCB1-10F motherboard, the black wire is the antenna wire.
This is from Rod Stewart's nice motherboard document.
BTW, your ohmmeter is a valuable tool here, you can simply put it on the suspect pin and run around and find where it goes. That's how I usually figure out motherboard wiring.
