Too bad Lionel hasn't reproduced a 675 or 2025 as they did with 671 and 726 engines They're such small but fun engines especially on smaller layouts

You're so right. Love the pics. This little engine small but mighty. Pulls well even with no magna traction. I've finishing my resto of a 675 and a 2025.

Yes, it is in the catalog. However, representatives from Lionel have already stated that it will be a basic LionChief starter loco (and therefore probably not on par features- or performance-wise with LionChief Plus 2.0 steam.) Perhaps someday Lionel will upgrade the engineering and re-release it as a LionChief Plus which they have done with some other locos like the K-Line-derived A5 switcher.
I'm eager to hear what buyers' experiences will be when they are released. Until then, given the price and all things considered, I think I'd rather have the '47-'49 original! Raise the bar! Build a BETTER mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door!!
