I was hoping someone would be kind enough to look into this for me. I needed to know the dimensions of American-made Lionel scale Hudson drivers, i.e. the 700E or its remakes. Specifically the length between each center of the attachment points for the main drive rods. What I'm trying to find out if I can do is take the main rods made for the Lionel Dreyfuss Hudson and install them on the 18056 Hudson w/ Vandy tender from 1997. They've been shown to fit on the Vision Line Hudson but it was pointed out to me the Vision Hudson shares drivers from the K-Line Hudson. See details on why I want to do this in my "Super 700E" project thread:

Thank you in advance for any help.

Thanks for the info Bob. My question stems more from the fact that the American Lionel Hudsons seem to be a bit bigger than the K-Line, and since the Vision Hudson appears to have K-Line drivers, it comes down to a comparison between the two as they could possibly be different regardless of prototype. I have a K-Line Hudson and know there's a caliper floating around in the shop somewhere, will have to track it down.

From other post:

PC9850 I have come across a set of the main rods for the Lionel Scale Dreyfus Hudson I have and have compared them to the extra main side rods I have fore the 700E/773 and the three holes do not line up. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If you center the middle hole at the eccentric crank the centers of the outside holes are approxiamently 1/16" at each side.
