Lionel 752E help needed

I would check out the power pick up assy. to make sure it is working. Sort of fragile looking. Next would be the reverse mechanism.  Good luck-love mine.

Is there somewhere on the Internet that would have a schematic of the unit that I could print?

Most prewar and postwar locomotives are wired very similarly except for some early e-units, and maintenance and repair on them is the same.

Jim.  Thank you for the advice, I found the reverse mechanism and cleaned it with contact cleaner and it runs just fine and reverses as it should.  Nice set but can't make my turns, only could run it back and forth on the straight away.   I'll have to run it on a larger layout.

A friend of mine bought one of these not long ago, when it ran it looked like a thunderstorm inside the cab. The original wiring was missing most of it's insulation. I rewired it, cleaned the E unit, serviced the whistle unit, and rewired and put lights sockets on the vestibules, as it was missing some. One very nice item. If you use modern switches you might have to lock the E unit in forward, my friend uses Atlas track, and it used to drop into neutral when crossing a switch, and he broke the commandment about using a track switch in a tunnel. It requires 072 track to run and look it's best. They are nice.
