hi everyone new member here my question concerns the 2001/2002 #831 blue comet engine I recently purchased w/o a tender and after going thru 5 different tender parts list from 2001/2002 will any of the tenders from that time that are tetherless work with the IR receiver on that engine...any help would be appreciated thank you
What happened to the tender? That engine should have come with a matching tender specific to the blue comet with a great whistle, bell, and steam sounds. I'm pretty sure any TMCC / Railsounds tender from that era (2000 / 2001) will work. Might want to check an old catalog and see if it was a particular version of railsounds.
I'm sure others can give you more precise info as I have never done this but heard about people doing this to test an engine out.
