Is there a chart some where of the basic power and rpm ratings of the old lionel AC motors? I am trying to specify a DC can motor replacement for one of my older engines and I can measure the physical size, but have no idea what the operating speed or torque would have been.
Any references or ideas appreciated.

There was a book published on the characteristics of the armatures, but that's all I am aware of.
If you are converting a postwar or newer AC-motored Lionel loco to a can motor, the best source is Timko's Repair Depot.

I have the two volumes on Lionel and find them to be useful.
It must have taken an awful lot of work to put those books together.
In order for materials such as this to be written, people have to buy the books.
