Lionel Amtrak dash 9 smoke unit issues

For the past Few days, my Lionel Legacy Amtrak dash 9 has been having issues with its smoke unit, it makes a buzzing noise and no smoke comes out, when it should be making the normal fan noise with smoke working properly, does anyone know what I should do to fix it? Thanks!

Well, the buzzing noise sounds like the impeller is hitting the fan chamber. If not, it could just be the motor is having an issue. My first stop is obviously to see what is actually going on, but it shouldn't be that difficult or expensive to fix.
