About the LCCA –

The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) is a national, not-for profit, volunteer organization which was formed by Jim Gates of Perry IA along with 83 other charter members back in 1970.  The club has grown over the years and has approximately 13,000 members from all around the world, but predominantly in the US.  The purpose of the club is to "promote and foster interest, research, education and enjoyment of Lionel trains from 1900 to the present in particular and by association, all toy trains in general.  The motto of our club is “ A Lifetime of Happiness Collecting Lionel Trains”.

Current LCCA President Dennis DeVito has established a club goal of reaching out and having direct contact with at least 2600 LCCA members and family members this year with the Special Events Program.  President DeVito and the entire LCCA Board of Directors are committing the resources to this family oriented Special Events Program in an effort to expand the club by recruiting new members, retaining current members and promoting the hobby.  We are constantly reaching out and trying to attract new and younger people who may have never experienced the magic of Lionel trains.  We have several LCCA Special Events scheduled in various cities all around the country.  For more information go to the "Special Events" tab on our website www.lionelcollectors.org

I'm really looking forward to attending the LCCA Convention in Boston.  Lot's of tours for attendees and information from the Lionel folks.

There are several opportunities for the general public to attend activities at the Convention, including a genuine buy-sell-swap meet Saturday.  Check with the Al K post above for details.

We have a full week long conventions with tours, clinics, seminars and Lionel Presentation.  The public train show is just one aspect of our convention.  We have a free public train show, swap meet event on Saturday 9-3.   It depends upon the time of day and when the photos are taken.  We typically have several hundred attendees.  It really depends upon the city and how effective we are with getting the message out to the local media, and what other news events are competing for air timE.  This is a good opportunity to see table holders from all around the country and not just local members.

Attention LCCA Conventioneers.

LCCA President Denis DeVito and the convention team have gone above and beyond for our LCCA Conventioneers.  Dennis has just made special arrangements for transportation at the end of our convention to Boston's Logan International Airport from the Double Tree Hotel in Danvers MA.    Please read below the details for these special transportation options for your consideration.

Getting from Hotel to Logan International Airport Made Easy

If you have a morning flight leaving Logan on either Sunday, 7/26 or Monday, 7/27 and want an easy hassle free way to get from the hotel to the airport, the LCCA has the answer for you.

LCCA with the help of our friends at DPI have arranged an hourly bus shuttle leaving the hotel beginning at 05:00 am on Sunday and at 4:30 am on Monday and going directly to the airport.

All you have to do is register and pay for your seat at the Registration Desk for Tour 17 –Sunday or Tour 18 - Monday. Because of the location of the hotel, traffic, and other possible delays, you should allow for at least 3 hours before your flight time on Sunday and 3½ hours on Monday.

More information will be available at the Registration Desk. The cost will be $25.00 per seat. This service will bring you from the Convention Doubletree Hotel direct to Logan Airport.  If you wish to take advantage of this early Sunday and early Monday service, purchase a one way ticket from Logan to the airport.  Confirm times of bus departure to see if you can use this service.
