Does anyone know if the engine will take 060 curves? I know the catalogs recommend 072 but just wondering if it would be possible to get through 060.

Christopher is asking about the J1a 2-10-4 with 8-wheel tender trucks, not the M1a 4-8-2 with 6-wheel tender trucks.
OOPS! You're right, I just unconsciously read M1a.

No worries. lol I did pick up the new legacy M1 but I think I got it with the short tender.
I treated my TMCC version to a Super-Chuffer and called it good. I spent this year's train allotment on the TriPlex.
Hi Christopher! I don't know whether either will take O60 curves, but if it sways your decision any, the Lionel ones have better fidelity to the PRR prototype. I would hold out for something like 6-11300 with Legacy. My $.02.

That's good to know. I went ahead and purchased 072 curves for the new layout. I figured I'd regret it down the line if I didn't, even though that means reconfiguring my track plan a bit. Looks like the Lionel one should be a good candidate for a reissue with bluetooth.
