Hi All,

I have some trains that I inherited from my grandfather and my father that mean a lot to me (my father passed away 5 years ago and we built the layout in the basement together) and I am looking to get them restored, specifically a Lionel postwar 2035, Lionel 244, and a Lionel U.S. Army (28411) Engine #99. All engines are (happily) operational but require detailing and repair to certain parts. The only thing not operational is the smoke unit on the 2035 (which seems to be a common issue) and the directional switches on all of them but that's not really needed with the directional capability on the new transformers.

In addition due to a recent flood in my basement luckily all the trains but one came out without damage. The power car for the MTH R142A set, while operational, has smudged paint on one side of the car and I would like to get it repaired to new condition.

I am hoping you guys have some suggestions on possible, reliable places/people I can send these engines out for repair. I live on Long Island so I'm hoping there might be somewhere local to take them. They mean a lot to me and just sending them out makes me quite nervous.

Thanks!

Dan
