I thought I did a posting on here on this subject, but can't find it...so here is one with more info:  I have numbers

but no pictures for Lionel Vanderbilt tenders: #18056, #2246W, and #19833RS (2246W).  I do have one of the

coal fired Vanderbilt tenders from the Lionel 0-8-0 "starter sets" that had Great Northern and S.P. Vanderbilts.

Anybody famiiliar with any of these three above and could post a photo?  I am just looking for the GN, FEC, C&0

type Vanderbilts.

As noted in my previous posting, I saw a lot of nice Vanderbilt tenders at York, but they were attached to

expensive engines, such as articulated C&O's,  and not available.

Thanks!

I understand your dilemma and good luck with finding those Vandy tenders. Many western railroads, especially Union Pacific, Southern Pacific, and Northern Pacific used Vanderbilt tenders behind their lighter steam engines.

But try finding a stand alone Vandy tender to purchase, new or used, especially with a Union Pacific logo. Next to impossible! Why can't Lionel or MTH offer these for separate sale? It's frustrating.

Well, maybe if others are looking also...somebody..once it might have been K-Line,

would crank some out.  I certainly agree with "Yelowstone Special".  I saw a brass shorty one at a York open show, no special detail, painted, used, and scratched, and it was the exact same price as a Lionel 0-8-0 AND GN Vandy tender new in the box I saw in the Orange Hall!  I could use three sizes, lengths, from a short one for switchers (I WILL use a short one on a switcher)  to a six or eight wheel truck one, to get a "family" resembance.  I erred when citing FEC (who had a caboose I like) instead of Seaboard, as I have admired some of Mr. Debridge's postings and was thinking of those.  I will probably have to scratchbuild them, but the two I kitbashed on chasses I had, did not turn out as well as freight,  passenger cars, or structures I build.  I would like to see pictures of those Lionel numbers!
