I do see that the set includes a LionChief remote, but I can't read the copy. Can you list some of the features for us?
Scratch that, Lionel.com has large adds, but not much detail. LC, conventional DC, DCC.

My understanding is that LionChief is Bluetooth, according to the Lionel representative. I've been assuming it's 2.4 GHz spread spectrum digital, but that seems to be wrong. At least for the HO version.

Ryan Kunkle specifically says the app will be for both Apple and Android platforms. Perhaps he misspoke.

One assumes that if the Bluetooth receiver is in the locomotive, a LionChief app on your smartphone would be able to communicate with it. Perhaps they've got a LionChief app in the works, but not yet ready? Certainly would be an additional useful feature for many.
