Marty, can you comment on the new tether setup that Lionel is using on their small steam switchers.

It appears the coupling is much closer than say the 0-8-0's.   Does drawbar have different holes to adjust the spacing ?

How is the new tether wire as far as looks and ease of use connecting ?

I'm guessing all the pickup rollers are connected. I was told at Charles Ro's open house that this setup would be standard now on all the smaller steam switchers.

I have had mine for a week, picked it up from Toms Trains on Saturday last. I love this engine, it runs great. Smoke output will clear a room. All works perfectly. I personally like having a BTO loco, I think it adds to it. Also, I did a quick search of all the big dealers and it appears everyone is out of them, so I think Lionel knocked it out of the park with this model and I'm glad I got one, #5244!!

Not sure about that. I looked at these, and just checked 5 large dealers, and they all had them (not to mention half a dozen presently on the Bay). Seems there are plenty around if someone wants one.
