Lionel BTO List - Believe the Catalog or the Shipping Schedule?

I wish I could order the PM 1225 with a PE tender like the good old days...

I heard the date for the Engines is 12/10.  ??

Thanks but I can't take credit for originally undercovering this.  Several folks pointed it out in the "What's does Lionel's "Built to Order" mean?" thread. I just thought it was important enough to warrant its own thread.  You are right, I hope Lionel (Or CharlieNassau or Pat's Trains or someone) chimes in with more info.  

 

And I am considering a career change "Full Time Toy Train Hobbyist" aka - retired!

Since I learned  long ago not to trust Lionel catalog art and descriptions I have no preorders to worry about!

You can't trust shipping dates from anyone there are too many outside forces involved here....Shipping dates are a calculated lie.

True, true.  But it's not the shipping dates I'm concened with.  It's the stealth announcement of items being BTO.    Interestingly, I just looked at the Charles Ro price list and they do list these items as BTO so I guess the shipping schedule designation is correct.  Now on to our next episode .... when will they actually ship?

After watching Marty's and Chris's excellent York Video I really think the 4000’s are going to make the deadline, I am really happy they will arrive by air…

Chris, unfortunately this does not pay very much. 

 Did someone say BTO...Bachman Turner Overdrive? Tune might prove true in regard to the other BTO

 

 

And if you don't pre-order in time, you won't see nothing at all!

Thanks Chris for the post,  In the EastSide Trains pre-order list, they have the BTO designation on the same list you posted above (I didn't check all of them), so you are one to something.  

 

Just like a new car, the minute you pick it up from the dealer.

At York, Mike Reagan stated several times (that I heard, and probably more) that he was going to be spending the entire month of November overseas (he even... thanked me for this at one of his presentations ) to ensure that the Vision Big Boys would make it here in December.  He even said that they would probably be sent via air freight.  Of couse, that doesn't mean anything else will be on time...

 

But then again, considering that this catalog contained my biggest pre-order ever, everything is likely to be early...
