Using my Legacy Cab & Base 1-L with Power Master, is there a way to initiate a "start-up sequence" on a Legacy engine? Selecting 'Engine' and programed number on the Cab 1L only starts the engine, no start up sequence.

I never tried doing a start up sequence with my 1L. I just hit the "engine', the "number" and then Button 3 to start. I should go down and try it.
Try engine, your number, and then either Button 2 or Button 7, before hitting Button 3 to start, and see what happens.
I'll try here in a bit and report back.
Try pressing ENG XX, AUX1 then push and hold 3. Not 100% sure this will work. Chris seems to have a good handle on it. I have a Cab1L at home I can try also if Chris doesn't get a chance.
Just tried it. No workie. Tried ENG XX, 7 (Control Tower), nope. ENG XX, 2 (Crew Talk), nope. The only thing that worked is ENG XX, 3 Start-up, and that's a normal start up.
Now I didn't try holding the 3 button. STBY.
Just tried Marty's suggestion.
It's a no go holding Button 3 on start-up. Just a normal start up.
I was using my newest Legacy engine, SD70 U.P. 9096 with all the bells and whistles. With Cab1-L I only have 1 bell and one whistle. Not multiple ones. But then again I don't know if I have multiples.
So in closing, No start-up sequence for a Legacy engine using a Cab1-L.
Unless I'm doing something wrong.
Just went through my SD70 manual.
No startup sequence. I'm guessing it's only on higher-end Legacy or Visionline engines.
Just to be clear, are we asking about the start up dialog or the sequence control? They are 2 different things.
Also I'll experiment tonight with my Cab1L. I don't have much time on that controller.
Thanks all for your efforts and reply, much appreciated.
Yes MartyE, dialog that goes with engine starting up.

OK here is what I could and could not do with the Cab1L using Base3.
- I could not initiate startup dialog.
- I could initiate shutdown dialog.
- I could not shutdown without dialog. I could with my Cab2 tapping the "Shutdown" button.
- I could initiate sequence control by holding AUX1 until I got the bell ding.
- I could change whistles on my equipped locomotive (Class A).
Thanks MartyE. Much appreciated ALL your efforts.
Glad to hear you can change whistles with the Cab/Base 1L. Of all the listed features that were tested by Marty, that one is the most important. (To me, at least.)
