Definitely an appropriate day to release the shipping schedule, if not the catalog itself!

I needed a good laugh.  When it gets here I'll drool over things that won't be available for another year.  Gives me just enough time to save up for an item or two.

"What difference would it make when it comes out.   most items wouldn't be available until 2015 anyway."

Not true. The items in the Ready-To-Run catalogs over the past several years have been consistantly close to schedule release, if not right on time. I know this, because this is the stuff I buy, and there have not been any real significant delays in anything I have wanted.

It will most likely be like last year, during the tour of Lionel we will see pages of the upcoming catalog at the Red Carpet Event at Lionel and we get the completed catalogs at York.

And as the Lionel web site is advertising the Red Carpet Event that we will get a sneak peak of this years upcoming items.

Well, that may not be the catalog the original poster is inquiring about.

Hot Water, that point did occur to me. BUT this is the hi-rail, 027 and traditional 0 guage forum, so it would by that nature suggest the R-T-R catalog.

I know that most - not all, but most - of the delayed product is of the full-scale nature, and there is another 3-rail scale forum. Just a thought.

I'm sure if I went to the scale 3-rail forum and started a thread about how we need more 027 types of items... well, it would probably get real ugly.

Lately I've been wondering a lot why there are so many sub-category forums here? You see a lot of threads that belong in the scale forum right here on the traditional 3-rail forum, and then us traditional guys get knocked for pointing out the obvious.

Just a thought.
