My standard GG switches (gentler than 072) seem to be pretty friendly toward them, but the PT's are long, stiff things; sprung axles would help.
The MTH version of the Niagara PT (centipede) tender is touchy, too.
The old Samhongsa/Williams/Weaver brass NYC PT tender, however, is pretty agile; I don't
recall mine ever leaving the tracks, except for reasons not related to the tender type (in
other words, for "operator error"; ahem). These tenders have more lateral motion
in the axles than L or M, and all the wheels are flanged, to boot. I think some are blind on the others (haven't looked lately).
