I recently purchased the car from a forum member and it's a lot of fun to operate. This is a great place to find old and different things for sale!

I second your comments. I found one on the forum here as well. My only complaint (actually my wife's): I have not found a way to totally silence it. Whether running in command or conventional, with switch either in program or run, it will periodically screech: "All Aboard for Lionelville!" or "All Aboard for York, Pennsylvania." Drives her nutz. Should be fun at the upcoming B&O Museum show, though. I put the duck-under telltale right in the center of the lower level of the module.
Bill, do you mean at the National Capital Trackers set-up? I am going to try to go see that this year for the first time.
That's the one, pennsy484, say hello when you come! I'll be the guy with the noisy giraffe.
Bill,
I don't have the manual in front of me but If you press AUX1 on your CAB1 and then press 0, you will silence the sound.
Charles
Thanks, Charles, I'll go try that. I admit I have not fully run it in command.
Hey Bill, after looking over the manual it appears you can't turn off the sound by pressing the AUX1 and 0 key on CAB1. That combination of key presses will "reset" the sound only. But, if you press AUX1 and number 4 key a few times, you can lower the sound and eventually silence the giraffe.
After playing for awhile, I noticed the car doesn't always respond to the commands from the CAB1. Anyone else have the same experience?
Try lengthening the antenna, that sometimes helps.
