Lionel Conrail GP-35 corrected shells have arrived!

All,

Please consider this the official announcement that the replacement shells for the Conrail GP-35's have arrived in Lionel Service, in Ohio. This pertains to the following product numbers;

 

6-38539 Conrail LEGACY Scale GP35 #2297 

6-38540 Conrail LEGACY Scale GP35 #2302

6-38541 Conrail LEGACY Scale GP35 Non-Powered #2305

 

If you have one of these models that is missing the "can opener" logo on one or both sides of the long hood, please contact Lionel Customer Service at 586-949-4100 ext 2 Monday through Friday 8a - 5p EDT to obtain your RA number and prepaid UPS shipping label.

 

Once received we will get your shell swapped and the locomotive tested and turned around to you within a couple days.

 

Please be sure you send your locomotive to us with the shell on the frame. If any engines are received without shells they will be retunred without shells!

 

For those of you who have inquired about purchasing the incorrectly decorated shells, please contact me near the end of January and we can persue that avenue then.

Unless I'm mistaken, they won't hit stores.  You have to deal directly with Lionel Customer Service for a replacement.

I was in Nicholas Smith right after this all started and they would not sell me one.  They said Lionel instructed them to send them all back.  I also haven't seen them in online stores when all of the other roadnames are listed.
