I've had a Lionel Culvert unloader for almost a year now.  Within the last few weeks the piece that slides back and forth sticks.  I have the power level set correctly per the insturctions and also checked for debirs on the beam where the motor slides back and forth.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I would suggest looking to make sure that both black plastic rollers are intact and not missing or the spindle that they roll on has broken off. I found that with one. I would also suggest checking to make sure the rubber wheel that is on the end of the motor and that drives the hoist side to side is clean of all oil along with the inside of the black metal channel that is runs in.

Update:

I had the same problem, all fixed now!  I took the thing apart, and the rubber on the wheel was as hard as a rock.  Since there was no hope of rescuing that one, I cut the rubber off the wheel and used a couple of appropriately sized O-rings to replace it.  It runs better than it ever did, works great.

The rubber wheel is listed as "not available" at Lionel, I didn't find it listed at any parts dealer, so fixing it seemed to be the only option.
