In 1958 Lionel had the D225 display layout that was 8'x8' and contained a #350 transfer table. This was a Super "0" track layout. I don't have one but wish I did.
Excellent work as usual
Tthanks
There was a repro one on eBay a couple of months ago a guy in Reading PA had it for sale. It went for about $500.
Love these. Outstanding work.
Lots of discussion on other Dealer Display threads here about matching that "Lionel green." What did you use?
Looks great! For the sign, do you paint it? Do you use stencils or freehand? Decals?
I create screens from original artwork, refine/sharpen if needed then each piece is hand made/lettered , different "layers" based on the number of colors. Achieving the same font/letter style is the challenge but it is what makes the piece as well. For example the top board recently sold on ebay for almost $1000 and the description implied that it was an original 1950 Lionel display board. But when compared to original you see how off it appears, too small (track is crowded on) and the lettering under each item is poorly hand lettered. The seller has sold items before with these vague suggesting dexcription that would lead one to believe that this is original. I sell repros of this that are clearly marked and far less than what this poor repro sold for.
