Hey all, I want to display some of my Lionel collection in my office and I want to use a 2 rail track as a display base so it will look more realistic. Which model and brand should I use? Thanks.

I assume you have the original Lionel 3 rail wheels still on or did you change them to scale wheels? Anyway, I think Atlas 2 rail will work best. I think their 2 rail track looks the best. Besides if you use a smaller rail the wheel flange might hold the wheels up off the rail and look stupid.

For the best appearance I would use M/E code 125.
Use the code which most favorably "fits" the size of the flanges on the display equipment. I like using two rail track for displaying three rail equipment because it will provide a wheel chock effect to prevent runoff. In my experience three rail flanges vary in depth even with the same importer.
The straightest most absolute scale track out there is Micro Engineering IMO. The smaller flanged 3R stock may roll over the spike heads/ties of code 148 track.
For the best wheel chock effect Old Pullman flex has the largest spike heads. Still available at swap meets.
You may wish to use Micro code 125 to be assured of interference. The larger flanged models can be positioned so most all of the flanges are between spike heads. With some 3R flanges w/smaller rail the ties become the point of interference.
I would use the Micro Engineering code 125. I have code 125 rail and the flanges on 3 rail wheels do not hit the spike heads at all. No risk of it looking "stupid".
I would second, or third in this case, the ME track. I would prefer their 148 to Atlas's if the 125 is problematic.
