I just bought a 2032 set and am thinking of replacing the nose decals. I ordered repro decals for them, but found an old thread on this topic where some of the posters were going to try the "peel and stick" versions as the water slide decals were too light. The results were never posted and that thread is now closed. So.....has anyone tried the "peel and stick" versions and how do they look? Thanks.

MPC Lionel used peel and stick, they looked ok to me.

Over the years I replaced many original decals with the "peel and stick" variety. They looked ok......in dim light or the dark. Had water-slide been available back then I would have gone that route. In this day and age there are very few reasons to use the "peel and stick" variety.

So have I, but the problem with this particular one, which was pointed out in the old thread about this, was that the yellow in the repro decal is very light, so when you install it over the black it is noticeable. Some folks use a second one over the first or......the peel and stick which is darker. Supposedly.
