Good Afternoon Forum Members:  My question I believe is a simple one but I need clarification.  I have two Lionel F3 bodies that I want to add power frames on complete with motors.  My question is are all Lionel Postwar F3 shells structurally the same?  I pose this question because I've had previous F3 bodies and shells and when screwing them on they give a slight difficulty in putting them together. I await your answers.  Thanks again

There's a couple different ways the shell attaches to the frame.

The B unit gets a screw on each end, at the bottom of the door.

1 screw in the nose and 2 screws in the rear.

Some A units have this bracket on the rear of the shell. It is riveted to the shell and slides onto the back of the frame. Then 1 screw in the nose.
