I purchased 20 Lionel Fastrack Switches from Charles Ro in the Spring of 2019 for my "modern" Lionel layout. My basement flooded soon thereafter and required major renovations (none of the switches were involved as I had not unpacked them and they were on our first floor). The renovations were completed in December 2019 and over the holidays my son and I constructed the bench work for the layout. Since them, I have begun to lay and wire track. Eight of the switches have been placed and seven have worked perfectly from their wired switch controller. I have not connected the TMCC controllers as of yet, but I hope they will all be fine. One 072 switch, however would only throw to the thru (green) position. When the controller is shifted to the out (red) position, nothing happens.
I tried other controllers that work with other switches and the same thing happens. I tried other switches in the same location with a different controller and they work fine. I think I can safely assume the problem is with the switch itself. I took the back off of the bad switch and compared it to a good one. They seem to be wired the same from the factory. Charles Ro is closed for the week. Lionel's customer service does not answer and their mail box is full. My question is where should I first go? Wait for Charles Ro? Keep calling Lionel? Will one of them replace the switch or do I have to have a Lionel Service Dealer try to fix it. I'm in a little over my head on attempting the repairs by myself. Can anyone give me some guidance? Thank you.
