My Lionel "General" steam loco sometimes derails its front truck when passing over O42 switches (especially the curve path) at higher speed. It seems that there's not much weight on the front truck.  Question:  would adding some weight to the chassis at the front of the loco (like fishing weights) help?  Suggestions welcome.

My Lionel "General" steam loco is an older model -- Rock Island & Peoria RR with a snazzy chromed boiler.  I'm a Rock Island collector/operator, so I bought it because of its namesake. It's a conventional loco -- no TMCC or Legacy. Actually, it is now the only conventional loco in my modest collection. I toyed with the idea of adding ERR circuitry to it, but the tender is small.
