I want to remove the wood load from the Lionel General's tender. Has anyone ever done this? If so, how did you remove said wood load?

1) Remove the shell.
2) Drill a hole in one corner of the wood pile.
3) Use a round jig saw blade.
4) Carefully remove the wood load.
5) Replace the fake load with the real one.
6) Return shell to tender.
Any tips on undoing the tender shell? I have undone several screws and the shell is still tight to the other parts of the tender. Was there any glue used for this that anyone is aware of?
Which model General are we talking about? Both of mine have a wood pile that is a rubber form that just snaps on/off the tender shell.
I have the Rio Grande set from about 10 years ago. 6-30168.
It should just be a rubber mold that pops out.
Thanks to all who responded. By gosh, the wood pile is a piece of hard rubber or soft plastic.
