Awhile ago I thought about doing video reviews on older engines and such that I have, but I never got around to it. Then there was a forum posting about buy used engines a few weeks ago. I said now is the time to do this. So here is my first attempt at doing an Older Train Review. I will include links to Lionels older catalogs in the video description so they can look up info about older products they are looking at. Anyway here it is what do you think, do I have a future at this? Remember this is the first attempt, I should get better with time, hopefully!

Great review Dave! I love those GP-30s and even bought the B&O version to convert to 2 rail. Not sure that I will use it in TMCC mode or go with DCC when I convert but I am excited to have it. I am a fan of the Reading as well, it is nice to see your collection with lots of Reading and Philly area roads mixed in! My wife says Reading is the smartest railroad because it is always reading. Gotta love women and trains.....
Keep the reviews coming, those of us with limited funds to spend like to see what we can buy second hand!

Thanks, glad to hear you liked it. When I got done I thought, I should have talked about this and that. I hope that these reviews will fill a niche for those buying used like yourself. I've got one more engine on order and it will probably be my last purchase, Stuff getting a little out of my price range and no more room. That being said it is the Lionel Reading T1 rambles, always wanted one. This will be the most I have ever spend on an engine, boy I hope it works out of the box. Next review I will add more info about the item I am reviewing. I'll be be doing my older 90's stuff first. Next up a Reading Camelback, in about 2 weeks.
Looking forward to the Reading Camelback review. I have the MTH and Williams brass version in 2 rail and LOVE them. Both look an awfully like CNJ with "Reading" painted on the tender but who's gonna know but us anthracite guys? My last "new" purchase was the Lionel O&W F's. After spending $1200 and getting them in SILVER I said to myself no more new gear. That T-1 looks so nice in the catalog but I would need another train room in addition the size of my current one to turn that maverick around! I also like the Reading & Northern , nee Blue Mountain and Reading, nee Gulf, Mobile and Northern 4-6-2. When that bad boy goes for $500 or less, I am on it like a rash. Keep 'em coming Dave!
I will have to run the T1 at the club, but it will be able to stretch it's it legs or wheels I guess.
Thanks for doing this - I think it’s a great idea and something people will look forward to
As far as the Reading GP-30 goes - I know they were delivered with the lower yellow stripe however that scheme did not last long - the lower side sills were quickly repainted in green
I did that to mine also to match / MU with my Lionel Reading U30C
Thanks again
