Great report and nifty pictures! Thanks.

Did anyone ask some questions? For example:

1. Is the parts situation going to be improved upon and when? OK, they have 1 million parts but the support of past product is, shall we say, limited.

2. Are there plans to alternatively source some production and (possibly) repatriate more than a limited number of pieces of rolling stock?

3. Could there be a successor to the Legacy 990 Cab 2?

4. Although the LCCA does not have much emphasis on American Flyer (It is, nonetheless, a Lionel product.), are there any product plans to pull AF out of its ditch?

Again, thanks for the nice report.

Bob

Bob,

1. Yes, with the new system that was launched either earlier this year or last year, Lionel is still in the process of transferring the data and continuing to add more parts breakdowns. Aaron mentioned the process is very time consuming but, the best way to get info on specific parts that may be "unavailable" or if you have a specific question is to email them at asklionel.

2. That wasn't asked by me, I vaguely remember hearing a question that related to "how are we doing as a business/company"? Overall, the Company is in a very good position! I think the question related to if Lionel would sell stocks similar to the postwar era.

3. Not at the moment, I was going to ask if there will be a development of a new remote that will replace the Cab2 remote but for the Base3 however, I didn't ask at the time. On the next Demos with Dave I recommend asking then.

4. I didn't hear much about American Flyer at the convention. However, Lionel mentioned they are still servicing AF so the product line isn't completely abandoned. We will just have to wait and see.

Over the next few days Im putting together a video highlighting the Lionel Seminar, Banquet and Recap. Stay Tuned!

Will, what a fantastic video!  My complements to Lionel for providing complete access to their headquarters, warehouse, production department, repair shop, art department, engineering, and even the Big Boss's office.  Wow. thanks so much!

I always value the catalogs (the dream books) and greatly appreciate the effort that goes into its production.  The engineering that goes into designing new products is amazing.

Lastly, this shelf using plumbing pipes and brackets is really cool.

The only thing missing was a review of the restrooms, but I think we may have seen a kitchen sink...

I’ve been a Lionel consumer for almost all of my life, from age 6, now closing in on 79, and I’ve enjoyed their products more than words can say, you might say I’m a Lionel train aholic…It’s a addiction that’s indescribable…. I’ve enjoyed the post war era trains, the modern era trains, and now the highly electronic era of their trains… I’m not a rivet counter, a paint authority, a design critic, I just love where Lionel is taking us fellows (and ladies) in the hobby today. Yes, I love the scale look, the sounds, the chuffs per revolution, the ability to run them slow, steady and realistically as a toy can be operated. Cab 2 is amazing, I’m even excited to see the new Cab 3 App when it arrives, I just want it to work and Yes, my great friend Captain William Porath, the gentleman showing us this beautiful tour of Lionel’s Factory will help me learn the new programs. I would have loved to visit Madison Hardware when they were in their hay-day, but I never got there. I would have loved to visit Lionel in Chesterfield Michigan, but never made it there either… Then, years ago, I would have loved to visit Lionel in Hillside New Jersey, seeing the 1949 Dream Layout, however that didn’t happen either.
Therefore, getting to see Lionel today through this wonderful video is a dream come true. There should be no negatives, all positives as this company is trying there best to give us a product to be happy with and enjoy to the fullest… If your looking for true perfection, true to the scale wheels, color, an exact replica, just have one made for yourself, then check the price, the time it takes, and nuff sayd… now,Let’s give Captain Will a pat in the back for a job Well Done… I look forward to his next video, they are fun to watch, I have my pop corn ready…. Thank you my good friend, you’re the best. Happy Railroading Everyone (See Farmerjohn, Will, Charles Lentz) (Leapin Larry, Will at Dr. Jack Fishers) and of course, Will and his beautiful wife Katherine) Trains are fun….

Hey, LeapinLarry,   I am with you 100% on your statement.  Thank you for your positive outlook.  If Lionel offered an internship for seniors, I would jump at that job opportunity (but don't let me get close to the forklift, I might have tipped one over on a summer job at the industrial yard at the port of Tacoma...)

Brewman1973, Thank you! This tour was absolutely a great time! The staff at Lionel was so professional and seeing how our Trains start as an idea, engineering, sounds, paint, repairs etc. just AWESOME! These locomotives on this shelf was a very nice idea and I'll probably doing this in my next house! Happy Railroading!!

@Brewman1973, Dave, thank you for chiming in on this wonderful thread, a “Tour of the Lionel HQ, Warehouse”, a truly great video with real people. It’s so amazing to see the people that make things happen for us to sincerely enjoy our hobby of model railroading. I was impressed with what CEO Howard Hitchcock had to say, a very sincere speech, and all of the heads of departments, the customer service folks, ladies and gentlemen, the repair department, headed by  Mr. Servati, a great leader, and my hero’s the Dave and Ryan Team, they make there presentations of the new products so interesting. And Yes, you nailed it, If Lionel offered a Senior Internship, I would jump at the opportunity. Well, I’ve probably said too much, but I am a happy camper with my Lionel products…. Happy Railroading Everyone

TCA-03-56781 and LCCA 1460…..
