I notice that the new 2012 catalog shows two colors for the 2363 IC F3 set.
The A-B combo appears in black lettering, while the loose A-unit has the
brown lettering. Can't imagine they'd actually do it this way, but with the
Big L, ya just never know! Anyone heard about this yet? I did talk to a young
lady at Lionel about the lettering colors a couple days ago, but she didn't
know about anything other than what was in the catalog blurb.

I also noticed the paint was very glossy - but like you said - it's a catalog, so who knows
I didn't notice the different lettering colors, but felt the brown a little too dark(at least for a PW repro,) more like what MPC used in the way back late 1980's.
I'm semi-interested in the set, but I'll wait until they're out so I can eyeball one. I don't think they'll disappear too fast.

I'm looking forward to this set also---Let's hope Lionel gets the brown color/finish to match the postwar original.
They've been doing a pretty good so far with the postwar remakes.
Another concern I have with this set is the 6414 Auto Loader.
I hope they address the packaging / removal of the four autos. The last couple of reissues of this car packed the autos in a clear plastic tray that was almost impossible to remove from the 6414 car itself.
