Has anyone had any success with the Lionel "sled" for non fastrack? i picked one up on eBay but the led on the sled for programming doesn't light when i try to program it - the red led on the LCS module blinks when i press it - then i i program it as an accessory in my cab-2= when i press set the red light blinks rapidly - am i doing something wrong i lave the Lcs wi-fi as first in Lcs chain - then Ser2 and then IRV2 - the IRV2 module is less tha three feet away from the "sled" should the red LED on the "sled" light? i see Lionel has discontinued this product - maybe because it doesn't work?

Ted, did you ever get an answer to this? I just tried programming my sleds and am running into the same issue you describe.
Thanks,

I installed mine today, and not without a lot of confusion.
a. It was challenging to attach the provided special 6-pin cable (not a PDI cable!) into the IVR2 module. It did not snap into the unit and would easily fall out. I had to use cable clamps under the table to hold it in place.
b. The colored LEDs were not addressed properly in the instructions. In fact, when it says an LED is supposed to blink, you don't know whether its the red light or the green light. When I hit the Program button for 2 seconds, it was the green LED that flashed next to the RECORD button rather than the red LED by the PROGRAM button.
c. After programming according to the instructions, I never did see an LED illuminate when an engine passed. However, when I programmed for ACTION COMMAND 1, the engine did emit the crossing-gate signal blow as it was supposed to traveling from right to left.
d. I still am not 100% sure I have this all programmed correctly but I can attest to the confusion in the instructions dealing with the colored LEDs and their placement on the sled.

Hi Davei
i tried a new cable from base. I put the pdi cable into first slot on Irv2 and daisy chained two other LCS modules from the Irv module. And it worked. Was able to press program button, green led blinked, set to aux1 and ran engine over it and it blew whistle. So I think it was the cable
I also found the connectors would not stay connected. I found the shrink wrap on the cable connector is too long. I cut it back and it snapped into the connector.
Also I put it on Lionel track. It does not fit between the rail flanges on the bottom and the flanges need to be trimmed to get to fit.
