This is my first try at posting pics and video on the new forum. I took these photos and the vid with my I Phone, logged onto the forum with my phone then attached all directly. Wow was that easy!!! Took a minute instead of sometimes hours trying to upload video to youtube, etc.
This is a great engine. I owe a debt of gratitude to RickO who shopped this for me and found one at Nicholas Smith. This and the K4 really are fantastic, nicely detailed and realistically sized for my smaller layout. I am very fond of the GN paint scheme. This engine is in my opinion a thing of beauty. I highly recommend it!
Thanks,
Ben

If you click on the big picture it gets bigger.
Sorry some confusion today, don't know how I managed to create this without filling the screen... Apparently I have a bit of a learning curve with my Iphone and the new forum....
Thanks,
Ben
Wow Ben that engine looks fantastic! I have been contemplating for some time whether to buy the K4 or this engine. This makes my decision even harder! They are just both so nice!
Thanks for the pictures and video! You are like the first person to make good detailed photos of the engine! Thanks again!

P.S. when filming with the iPhone turn the camera horizontally so that the picture doesn't come up as narrow as the video shows.
It's also too bad that apparently Lionel did a short-run of this road name as they were gone shortly after they came out. I was told by one of the bigger dealers he had one when I inquired-turns out he did not.....

"don't know how I managed to create this without filling the screen"
you were holding the iPhone vertically. hold it horizontally.

Wow ... that thing *IS* a thing of beauty! Great slow speed operation/sounds, too! Enjoy her!
Looks like a really nice "smaller layout," too.

Overlandflyer, you're not the only GN fan in the crowd...
The GN O-3 class were USRA Heavy Mikes, numbered 3200-3209. MTH offered a Mike in this number series, but it is a light Mike, not a heavy.
Anyone seriously contemplating prototypical GN steam power should get a copy of the recently released book "Steam Locomotives of the Great Northern Railway". It is available at the gnrhs.org site, and from many popular railroad book vendors.
