Do you know the length of this engine & tender? How does it compare to a Berkshire?
Thanks.
Doug
My only issue with this engine was it did not have the whistle effect or blowdown effect, which to me are tres cool aspects of Legacy steamers. Other than that, it looked and sounded great at the store.

The legacy/scale "Mikes" are 20 3/4" and O36 minimum radius. Legacy/scale "Berks" are 26 1/2" and O54 minimum radius.
are those engine in oversupply ..Charles RO has them now on sale for 699.- (599.- conventional)..
If only they had made a CN or CP...would love one

That seems short...I guess they were a lot smaller than a berk.

A real Mike comes in at 86',a real Berk at i.e. NKP 765,just over 100'.
The calalogue said 20 3/4s however this was a misprint.
I have the TMCC Western Pacific and it is 23 1/2 end to end.
A very impressive engine in TMCC, even better i'm sure in Legacy.
You'll like this engine.

Thanks Soo Line. It seemed a little to short.
Doug.
I have the Texas & Pacific Cab 552 (6-11288) which I also bought from Grzyboski for $775 in November 2011.
Great engine, and I really like it! Length coupler to coupler is 21-1/4".
You will like it.

NOTE: I had a minor issue with the engine refusing to run right out of the box, but it turned out to be a slightly out of place or bent support that was interfering with one of the rods, and preventing the main motor from running. I straightened it carefully, and it has run fine ever since. IIRC, the cab light blinked three times (or something like that) to let me know that the motor was stalled.
