I just ordered the missouri pacific legacy mikado from grzyboski trains today. They said they would test run it for me to make sure all is well. Hate to get it shiped to me and find it was defective.  This is great service and I got it for under $800.00. Best price I have seen. Can't wait to get it!!

Any one have a legacy mikado and do you love it? Would love some feedback. It may hold me over till I get it in the mail.

Thanks.

The legacy/scale "Mikes" are 20 3/4" and O36 minimum radius. Legacy/scale "Berks" are 26 1/2" and O54 minimum radius.

That seems short...I guess they were a lot smaller than a berk.

Thanks for the positive reveiws! Wish I had a local hobby store. Closest one is mth heavy. I just love Lionel's legacy for ease of use and great remote. I have one legacy sd70ace engine and just love it! Could not wait to get a steamer. Thanks to Feds for my tax refund. Maybe though if they would let me keep more of my pay throughout the year. I could buy more engines!

I have the TMCC Western Pacific and it is 23 1/2 end to end.

A very impressive engine in TMCC, even better i'm sure in Legacy.

You'll like this engine.

Thanks Soo Line.  It seemed a little to short.

Doug.

I have the Texas & Pacific Cab 552 (6-11288) which I also bought from Grzyboski for $775 in November 2011.

Great engine, and I really like it! Length coupler to coupler is 21-1/4".

You will like it.

NOTE: I had a minor issue with the engine refusing to run right out of the box, but it turned out to be a slightly out of place or bent support that was interfering with one of the rods, and preventing the main motor from running. I straightened it carefully, and it has run fine ever since. IIRC, the cab light blinked three times (or something like that) to let me know that the motor was stalled.
