This may have been brought up before and while it's just speculation anyway, do you think Lionel will come out with another PRR Duplex? It seems like they have reproduced other offerings in a shorter time frame (Turbine, M1a, 606/611/612, and several Berks to name a few).

I'd only be interested if it's the as delivered prototype in all it's skirted glory. But I hope they don't do it until 2016.
I would love to see this engine released in a Legacy, or even better, a Vision version. However, this engine was apparently part of the lawsuit MTH won against Lionel and for some reason Lionel cannot make it again. This is too bad. The 2000 engine, 6-28063, looked absolutely great. I personally would prefer the original Lionel tooling of one of the production engines. MTH has issued the prototype T1s multiple times already.
The Lionel engine has some operational issues that hopefully would be fixed with a re-issue. Only two double-chuffs per revolution (instead of four), no cruise, and the center drivers are too wide and have caused shorting on some types of turn outs.

Ron, I think they could reissue it because the B&O EM-1 was also a part of the lawsuit, and that has been reissued.
I have the original, so I probably wouldn't be interested in a reissue. But I would love to see the unskirted one with the portholes. Remember the catalog before the one announcing the T1 and Lionel pictured the porthole version with the PRR heavyweight passenger cars? To my knowledge this engine has never been done in die-cast.

Anyway, when I hear about an "un-skirted" T1 I think of either 6110 or 6111 later in life when the skirts were removed for easier maintenance. To me, skirted or un-skirted refers to 6110/6111 in their various stages of life.

It did not take long before even this shrouding was removed so most all wheels and machinery was easily accessible (Lionel's model). I want 6110 as built with Legacy. Yes, MTH built it, and I'll most likely get the PS-1 version at some point as I have little faith that Lionel will make a Legacy version of the 6110.

As I have mentioned on other posts: I have 3 of these beauties,my favorite steam engine. I may have even seen one as a little boy,since my uncles always took me to see the trains. They were relegated to mail by then,running from Pittsburgh to Greensburg at that time
Anyway,the MTH 6110,a Sunset 3rd Rail modified version,and the Lionel stripped version are at home. The Sunset version is the smoothest runner of the three,all of them TMCC and EOB. I would get a 6111 if offered by Lionel,and maybe another of the stripped down versions.
