Lionel Lionmaster Big Boy not responding to TMCC

Hello colleagues, I have a Lionmaster Big Boy and upon trying to start it up, it is not responding to my CAB1 remote. When I turn on track power, I get marker lights, sound, and smoke. I took it off the track, then tried a newer engine (Legacy) and it started up great with the SAME REMOTE. Could I have blown a command board? TIA

Could be the antenna shorted to the shell, or the antenna connection loose inside.
