The accessory, 82102 , has 3 wires: red, black and white. It has an on/off switch on the accessory. I'm going to power it via aux power and use a separate toggle switch for on/off. The manual uses the red and black wires for power. Says to leave the white disconnected. Does anyone know what the white wire does ?

Try this first with test legs red and black should be to turn it on and off.

The white should be the ground or your return.
