Lionel Mikado on Ross/Gargraves O42?

I run larger that 042 but I can tell you that mine runs flawlessly through Ross switches and Gargraves track.

Thanks for the report... better to discover that now instead of after dropping $800 on one.

Still need some WP steam power... maybe MTH will someday release a WP Railking Mountain.

The K-line Mikado was rated for O31 track. I run mine on Super O36 all the time. It's hard to imagine the Lionel version not liking O42, they look identical mechanically.

I have a Lionel Legacy Mikado which arcs on some of my MTH scaletrax switches. I will try to post a video of this. There is also an issue with the cab hitting the the tender and that is on 054. Shimming the track works but it seems to replicate the problem in other areas.

They handle O-36 Fastrack switches with ease, backwards and forwards. I can't imagine they would have a problem with anybody's 0-42, but I suppose there is only one way to find out for sure . . .

Just to follow up on this topic:

 

I wound up chancing a WP Legacy Mikado anyways.  No problem at all on my Ross O42 switches or any of the others!

 

Great engine, except that the locomotive engineer sounds like (1) he's from New England, and (2) on heavy Benadryl, in which case he really should' be operating heavy machinery. I miss the locomotive-specific crew talk!
