Hello All,

I'm new to this forum, so please forgive me if this has already been discussed.  I just acquired a Lionel Model 1044 transformer with the cast metal switch components "decomposing."

I would like to attempt to restore the switches, but I need an interior photograph so see how everything goes together.

Does anyone have any inside photos of this transformer?  Any help or advice would be most welcome.

Best Regards,

Can you post pics of what you are working on? I suspect you mean the control shafts are messed up. It's not a particularly valuable transformer and probably not worth a lot of effort to try to repair it. It could be replaced with another transformer of equal utility for a nominal price. Your damaged 1044 transformer can probably be easily adapted to use for fixed voltage output.

I've worked on a variety of those older transformers. Sometimes they can be repaired economically, if you want to spend the time on it.
