Have searched the Lionel replacement parts section to no avail. Does anyone out there know the size and /or part number for a traction tire that fits the MPC Rectifier (8859, 8754, 8659) and EP-5 (8551, 8558, 8272, 8762)? Thanks for any responses.

The tires are readily available from any parts supplier as 222-108
Thank you for your response. So that number is correct for both the Rectifier and EP-5?
There were pretty much two popular traction tire sizes for the postwar and MPC era:
222-108 for diesel/electrics
242-206 for steamers
I verified with the Lionel Service Documents that both the EP5 and Rectifier use the 222-108.
Trainmstr,
For future reference here's where you can find the info. Let's use the 8659 as an example. It's in Service Manual Product Supplement 1 through 9, pp. 15-75 and 15-76, downloaded via this link:

All of the other product numbers you cited are also broken down in the same fashion in this same Service Manual Product Supplement.
Good luck with your tire replacement efforts.

Might be helpful. I recently purchased new tires for my Lionel and Williams locomotives (two sizes) from “trains-in-the-attic (17852)”. They have different sizes for Steamers and diesels from multiple companies. They have worked for me.
Mellow Hudson Mike,
Thank you for the link to that data!!!
