I recently purchased a Pennsylvania N5c Caboose. Can anyone tell me what the antennae aray on the roof was used for? Cannot find any info. Happy railroading everyone!
It was an induction trainphone system. The system used the rails and signally wires that ran along the rail right-of-way. The cabins car, tenders, and diesels had similar antennae.
