Best to get it in. There is a run of Challengers that will also be going through their system. Both ALCO and Challenger are software/pcb type of stuff. Electronics department will probably be as bit busy.

Our stuff will be out of warranty before we get to run it!
Lol, I think it’s time for the CEO to sit down and watch some of these repairs being done. Maybe, proactive will become the word of the day.
I just talked to lionel service and they confirmed that they will extend warranty period to cover the time engines are in for repair and for the delay while they were shut down. so it looks like warranty clock will start ticking down when repaired unit is shipped back. I have nothing in writing to that effect. it is the right thing to do. kudos to lionel, if they follow thru on this. it takes some of the sting out of it.
I called on Monday for the RMA and was told it would be emailed to me. Still haven't seen anything on it, I guess I'm going to have to follow up.

Matt,
Don’t be too impatient! It took about a week before I got an RA#. They are really backlogged ! It will come !
Bummer, buy a new Lionel loco then have to wait weeks for it to be repaired.

Thanks Fred.
After six months and three trips to Lionel service, my ABBA Lionel PRR PA is actually working correctly. Wow. And with all those trips, the locos were not damaged.

Shocking ! My mr muffins special run Hudson came damaged, I took a refund rather than dealing with Lionel.
Your dealer gave you a refund? I could not get my dealer to help me at all. I am glad I have the trains, the sound is the best I have ever heard, but 3rd Rail pulls much stronger.

Just goes to show you. When dealing with a quality dealer as mentioned above you get quality service. When a dealer won’t help or tells you to go direct to Lionel I remind them that I didn’t buy it from Lionel I bought it from YOU.
I recently sent them a locomotive to repair. They received it on 11/13; they shipped it out on 12/4. Taking weekends and the Thanksgiving holiday into consideration, they had it for 14 working days. That is really not too bad.
My Alco PA ABA took about 2 months. Sent it in the first week of August and didn't get it back until the first week of October.
