I have a Lionel Camelback steam engine #555 6-28745. The box says it is TMCC upgradeable. I am trying to find taht I believe makes this happen. Does anyone know where I might get one. All the train stores I have checked with do not have any of these. Bill

Correct, since Lionel pulled the TMCC modular components from the parts website some time ago- now the cost and availability of those components is harder and more expensive.
Again, yes, that engine is modular, minimally you need an R2LC C08 module.
Ideally for full sounds, you then also need a railsounds 4.0 modular steam board and matching railsounds power board.
Again, all 3 of those components were removed from being able to buy them through Lionel Parts.
Good luck. Hopefully someone who stocked up can help you.
Drop me a line Bill, I have all those parts.
Please note that this run of the conventional/upgradeable Camelbacks comes with conventional RailSounds 4.0, therefore the audio power board is already installed.
To upgrade to TMCC with full RailSounds, you'll need the R2LC as correctly noted above, and either a PIC/ROM swap on the audio board or a new RS4 audio board with RS27-level (not RS28) chips.

Great news John. I appreciate it. I will email you my address in the morning and you can tell me where to send the money. Thanks again for helping me out. Bill
Hey John. Do you have the R2LC board for the engine upgrade?
We have a club member that has an upgradable diesel but no board.
Just checking.

The parts listing shows this with a Signal Sounds board, so open the tender so we know for sure if you do or do not need the generic power supply.
