It appears Lionel has cataloged this engine a few times.  In 1999, it was cataloged as 6-28023, road #3755, and was rated for 31" curves.  In 2004, it was cataloged as 6-38089, road #3678, and was rated for 27" curves.

I've been looking for one of these and see one of the earlier versions up for auction.  I've got some 27" curves on my inner mainline, so I'm wondering if I'd be safe with the one rated for 31" curves.  I've got to believe this is the same engine.  Any experience with either one?  Thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks

I have three versions of this semi-scale Lionel PRR K4.  One came with elephant ears in a set with 031 tubular track.

I don't have an 027 set up but I did take four 027 curved sections and gently pushed the engine-tenders back and forth.  There was no binding or interference between the wheels and the body's of the engine-tender.  The drivers still had some side to side play.

I would think all similar engines would operate on 027.

Let me know if you'd ever want to part with one of your semi-scale Pennsy 4-6-2 Pacifics.

If you're at all interested, I'm looking to sell (or trade) a semi-scale Pennsy Junior Berk.  My line-up includes 3 Berk's and no Pacifics, and I'm trying to get some diversity in my steam selection.
