Picked up some Lionel items that have arrived. These are the 3 pack sets of the 30,000 gallon Tank Cars. Philadelphia Energy Solutions. Not too bad.

"Not too bad". I'd say those look very nice!! If not awesome. The details on top look great.
Thanks for the pictures!
Sweet looking set. I always like the look of a good tank car set.
This may be a silly question but is there a prototype of these cars in the real world ---specifically philly area
Lots and lots of tank cars around here
Just drove through Philly the other day --- trains everywhere --- every frt. yard seemed filled
Thx

Do these come as single car offerings or just the 3-pack? I definitely want one.

Yes PES processes crude oil in South Philadelphia , which they transport in from the North Dakota Bakkan oil reserves. They almost died off a few years ago when the US was importing all its oil, now they are very active again.
Thanks, Sandjam.
Picked up the 3-pack at the Greenberg Show today in Oaks for $159. My wife and kids will give it to me for Christmas. :-)

Did Lionel not ship all the roadnames for these cars yet? Mine haven't shipped from the dealer.
Sandjam> I love those philly tank cars would look so nice if they added the hoses to them like the Gatx tanks. let me know if you ever decide to sell them.

All the road names have shipped except for the UTLX, which is expected I think next week or very soon.
Thanks...UTLX would be the ones I am waiting on. Looking forward to them based on the photos.
UTLX versions arrived today. These are great. I though the modern crude oil/ethanol tankers had a slight taper to the shape of the cylindrical body...with the middle being narrower than the ends? I could be wrong as I have never seen the 1:1's in person.
